Mas dels Arbres is a country house and 100 hectare farm in the heart of Parque Naturale del Cap de Creus.

Mas dels Arbres has been restored using respectful building techniques, traditional materials and local teams. The architecture and design decisions allow the farmhouse and gardens to sit comfortably in the natural surroundings.

Mas dels Arbres has an inviting and peaceful atmosphere letting guests relax and disconnect in a private and exclusive estate. The house has been furnished with antiques dating from the 1750s to the 1950s, decorated with a sophisticated collection of 20thC art ranging from Joan Miro to David Donaldson to Robert Slingsby. There are modern touches in each of the 5 bedrooms including luxury mattresses, organic cotton linens, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. In addition there is a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, a library and 1 cloakroom, all fully stocked.

Each window in the house frames a particular view of the landscape, from San Pere de Rodes, up the French Coast, to Puig Alt, to the trees from which the farm takes it name. Starlink WiFi keeps you connected.

There is a lap pool (a rarity in a national park) where you can exercise, stretch-out or simply lounge enjoying the far-reaching views.

The gardens have been planted using drought-resistant plants and practices to conserve water. The elms that grow along the stream outside the house provide cool shade from the summer sun and Tramuntana. The restored olive grove is coming into its third year and is maturing nicely. We are now in the process of re-establishing the kitchen garden and vineyard, employing sustainable practices that respect the land.

The stable suite (45m2) stands alone from the old house sitting proudly above the pool.  The suite has a California King-size bed, with a separate living area with a comfortable two seater sofa for lounging and a woodburning stove for those chilly evenings.  We included a table to work at, to study or simply to read.

The suite has a large private terrace with a built-in bench surrounded by aromatic plants, with views of the swimming pool, the Pyrenees and up the French coast.  There is a second private covered porch with two reading chairs.

The suite has been decorated with a collection of mid-century modern furniture and a collection of contemporary French and English art.

The Garden suite is a generously sized room designed to be wheelchair accessible.   The suite has a King size bed (with deluxe ViSpring mattress) and en-suite bathroom.  There is a sitting area with comfortable lounge chairs and a wood-burner for those chilly evenings; a desk and chair to work at, study or simply read; and a large private terrace with a dining table and chairs.   

The views from the room and the terrace are spectacular and overlook both the swimming pool, a small olive and almond grove and in the distance the Pyrenees. 

The mid-century furniture is all from the English furniture maker, Ercol.

Room 2 is in the original Masia and retains many of the characteristics of the original Farmhouse including the restored 'festejadors' (window seats). The room has beautiful views over the walled garden, the trees and stream, the main olive grove and then up to Puig Alt. There is a comfortable sitting area, a Super-King size bed and plenty space to read and relax.

The room has been furnished with beautiful antiques and old rugs, and with a collection of Scottish, Russian and Ukrainian art.   

Room 3 is in the original masia and retains many of the original features from the farm house: the old oven, the kitchen sink and a 'festejador' (window seat).  The room has beautiful views north over the tiled roofs of the farm up to the castle San Salvador and the monastery of San Pere de Rodes

There is a king size bed, chest of drawers and a comfortable reading chair.  The beautifully restored sink doubles up as a little dressing table.

The room has a collection of contemporary Scottish and South African pictures, antique Afghan rugs and country furniture from the US. 

Room 4 is in the original Masia and retains many of the characteristics of the old house. The room has beautiful views over the walled garden, the trees and stream, the main olive groves and the right up to Puig Alt.

There is a comfortable sitting area, a chest of drawers, a Super-King size bed and plenty space to read and relax.  The room has been furnished with beautiful antiques and old rugs, and with a collection of 20thC Scottish art.
